DRD bus contract decision is crazy

Published 03/12/2015

Over the last few months Ballymena as a whole has had a tough time when it comes to local businesses.

We have seen the closing of JTI Gallaher, Michelin plus hundreds of jobs lost at Caterpillar. This has had a devastating effect not just on local people who have lost their jobs, but also to the area, as millions have been removed from the local economy.

Now an outrageous decision by the Department for Regional Development has seen a Belgian company awarded a £19m contract for the new Belfast Rapid Transit system, which could have been awarded to Wrightbus.

Wrightbus is a world leader in its field and already supplies buses to many countries/cities around the globe.
