Engineering society with bargain homes

I was pleased to learn that the new Minister for Social Development, Alex Attwood, is continuing Margaret Ritchie’s programme of social engineering.

The handing-over of 27 ‘beautiful waterfront’ apartments at Pottinger’s Quay to Clanmill Housing Association will ensure that an equal number of the most vulnerable in our society are relieved of the struggle to afford a luxury home.

It also guarantees that they will never work to support themselves.

The cost to the taxpayer is minimal — only £3.3m plus housing benefit for the lifetimes of the occupants.

A real bargain.
