English winners and brits losers, as usual

Last Monday the English media were predicting a fantastic week for 'English' sport. The rugby team would blow the Springboks away and retain the crown.

Then there were the footballers that would melt Russia on the plastic pitch and the great role model for kids, Lewis Hamilton. He showed his true 'English' credentials by blowing it too.

But, as usual when all the losers lost, they became 'British'.

Martin Brundle was almost in tears as he described the tragic week for 'British sport.'

How do they work that out? Scotland will likely qualify for the Euro Finals and Northern Ireland are still in with a shout.

Now the burning question for the 'English' is: who will win Sports Personality of the Year now? Which English loser lost best?
