EU's policies to blame for rise in racial tension

LEARNING that we now have East Timorese workers employed in Dungannon (DebateNI, June 24) does not surprise me one bit. I welcome anyone who contributes to our economy, as well as fitting into the community.

What I object to is the "open door" policy imposed upon us by a European Union which has been a total disaster.

Not only does it exploit the working class, it destroys our heritage, our culture and our laws.

It has also created the odious impetus for racial and sectarian division. That alone is a curse to be inflicted upon any democracy.

The present system of European Union policy has to change before it collapses into chaos.
