Fear is the main hurdle to Scots' independence

THE gloves are well and truly off. The SNP has published its prospectus for an independent country (DebateNI, November 27) and all the No campaigners can do is say, 'But we may not allow you to use the pound as your currency.'

All they can actually guarantee is that, if Scotland opts to remain within the UK, the Scots can expect more of the same poor government from Westminster. Fear of change is the major impediment to independence. Devolution has shown that Scotland can govern its own future.
