Feed the world by going vegan

Published 22/12/2015

As we push our trolleys around a busy pre-Christmas supermarket, we are certain to hear Band Aid's charity song Do They Know It's Christmas - a powerful reminder that, while we choose between our favourite foods, millions are still going hungry. And the foods we choose do impact on those people, as much arable land is used to grow feed for animals, rather than food for people.

With a rising population, starvation is as big a problem today as when Bob Geldof first urged us all to dig deep. A 2010 United Nations report concluded that a shift towards an animal-free diet was vital and Veganuary encourages people to try vegan for 31 days each January. On its website, you'll find plenty of information.
