Financial aid for women is there

We READ with concern the recent statistics revealing that the number of women facing extreme financial difficulty and declaring themselves bankrupt has hit a record high.

Given that women are more likely to be made redundant, more likely to have their hours cut and more likely to be part of a single-parent family, squeezed by welfare cuts, it is hardly surprising.

Sadly, six-in-10 of the women we help directly have had to default on bill payments, with four-in-10 fearing they may lose their homes.

We would like to remind those who are struggling that there may be an avenue of help out there - with charitable grants available.
