Firearms fee rise is just robbery
It has just come to my attention that the Government proposes to increase the cost of a firearms certificate from £50 to £120 and a firearms dealer's certificate from £150 to £697. How on earth can this be justified?
Here we have a bland statement, slipped under the radar, with no mention of a variation of fees for pensioners, or for teenagers who wish to take up a legal sport.
Yes, I do realise that governments need money for the services they provide to the community, but they are taking it from the wrong people (ie law-abiding citizens). These fees should be reduced, not increased. If the Government needs more money, then make criminals pay.
