Flags spoiling our beautiful village

Published 15/07/2015

After retiring and moving back to Dundrum after living in London for over 30 years, I find it very depressing that such a tranquil and beautiful village, which has some of the best views of Dundrum Bay, Murlough and the Mountains of Mourne, has to be adorned with such a plethora of flags.

Once again, like clockwork, flags have been erected all along Main Street prior to the Twelfth without any consideration for or even public consultation with local residents or businesses.

If the organisers have any respect for their village - and, more importantly, for their Union and Ulster flags - then they should return Main Street back to normal once again after the Twelfth celebrations and leave such a beautiful place such as Dundrum free from flags.
