Foster must prevent blocking of EU exit
Your report (News, December 5) on the two-pronged Northern Ireland legal challenge to Brexit raises important issues.
Without wishing to prejudice any legal judgments, I must point out that now is the time for true unionists to start applying pressure to the dreary queue of malcontents who are trying to prevent the whole of the United Kingdom from following the democratically expressed will of its people.
It is essential that the First Minister, Arlene Foster, gives the lead on this.
As a unionist, Mrs Foster must realise that the will of the United Kingdom people must not be thwarted and that this takes priority over the continuation of the mandatory coalition in our devolved government.
I would suggest that Mrs Foster summons her Deputy First Minister, along with the leaders of the Ulster Unionist Party, the Alliance Party and the SDLP, and makes it clear that there must be no more Brexit-blocking, otherwise she will remove herself and her party from the Executive and playtime will be over at Stormont.
This would be the action of a true unionist in the United Kingdom.
