Gaza twinning idea is baffling
At a time when the Arab world is rising up against undemocratic regimes, a district council in Northern Ireland wants to twin with an unelected and oppressive council in Gaza (News, March 31). You couldn't make it up.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, Moyle's SDLP and SF councillors say their vote to twin with the Hamas-dominated council is a 'humanitarian gesture'. The Hamas regime has thrown political opponents off rooftops and threatens death to homosexuals. It fires mortars into Israeli towns.
Perhaps the Moyle councillors can explain the mutual interests of the people of Ballycastle and district with these activities?
