Gender pay gap still indefensible
When I started my first job as a graduate in 1962, the salary of the identically qualified woman at the next desk was 20% below mine. Jane Merrick (DebateNI, July 16) writes that the starting pay gender gap is now 19.1%.
This suggests it will take 1,200 years for the starting pay of women to catch up with men. Can anyone defend this?
