God has the ultimate authority on our lives

Published 01/07/2016

The outcome of the EU referendum revealed an interesting disconnect between the electorate and the political parties, big business and other interest groups.

At ordinary elections we vote for parties and personalities, but at this referendum the intention of individual voters clearly rose above party political lines.

I sense the Remain camp didn't sufficiently motivate their supporters to come out and vote, possibly due to perceived overwhelming support across the political spectrum, while the Leave camp were vociferous, with individuals displaying a strong desire to get out there and make their opinion count.

Overall, as a Christian I believe there is One with ultimate authority, who remains in control and "works all things according to the counsel of His will" (Ephesians 1:11).
