John O'Connell equating faith with happiness is quite mistaken. Many of us have no faith these days and live quite happy lives. We don't feel any guilt over someone who ate an apple and got us all condemned.
And we should politically enforce faith? I think not.
The Catholic Church has shown time and time again that it has no respect for its believers and the hypocrisy it spews is not welcome in a modern, inclusive society.
Do not think that those who have no religion either need it or want it forced on us.
