Heat scheme and financial waste
Philip Allen (Write Back, September 26) has a rather unrealistic view of dealing with Northern Ireland's future energy needs.
I understand, from a report from the NI Audit Office, that the Renewable Heat Initiative Scheme (which includes wood pellet boilers) has being over-subsidising the scheme to the order of some £30m.
Is anyone investigating how this renewable energy scheme managed to end up leaving a £30m financial black hole? Who is to blame?
This is further evidence that the Executive consistently mismanages finance and continues to waste taxpayers' money.
Perhaps it would be better to close Stormont down before we run out of money before Christmas?
