Hoping Lennox the dog will get to go home

Thank you for your coverage of Lennox, the dog wrongly taken away by Belfast City Council and locked up for 18 months in isolation and poor conditions.

I'd like to point out that the council's spokeswoman is quoted as saying, "Lennox continues to be kennelled and cared for pending the outcome of the legal proceedings."

I think, given that Lennox is locked up alone in a concrete, sawdust-filled windowless cage, it would be wrong to use the word 'cared'.

It's more appropriate that the word 'abused' is used for what Belfast City Council has done to this dog and his family.

I live in Sweden and there are several of us appalled to see that this is being done - legally - to a companion animal.

We all hope and pray that Lennox comes home soon.
