Regarding the topic of Northern Ireland banknotes not being acceptable in Great Britain, I thought I’d raise the tone.
When my son went to live in Slough about 20 years ago, a shop assistant refused to accept a Northern Ireland note.
When he pointed out that it was marked ‘sterling’ she paused and said: “That’s in Scotland, so it’s ok then.”
