India's space exploration is way forward
TOM Mangan (Write Back, November 8) is not the first person to offer India unsolicited advice on how to run their country.
Critics of space exploration talk as if money spent on such ventures is exported into orbit, rather than spent on the ground resulting in technological, scientific and economic advancement.
India has made serious progress in becoming a player in high-tech industries. This has allowed its best-educated people to remain at home, where they can add value to an economy that is set to grow to become the world's third-largest by 2035.
Perhaps Northern Ireland could learn a few things from them?
