Inspiring activists ring in new year

I HAVE never felt so inspired and empowered before. This is not only because of the massive wave of protests taking place across the world, but because of the way activists have played such an important role in this exciting global movement - contributing with creativity, joy, love and support.

From the brave Egyptian women in Tahrir Square, assemblies of Greek protesters in Syntagma Square, the protesters who slept for weeks on the floor in Madison's capital building, who pitched tents at occupations across the US, participated in strikes and rocked out in flash mobs. Well done to you all. And 2012 promises to be even better.
