Internet is not main priority
Martha Lane Fox, the Government's newly appointed digital Tsar, has been given the task of getting as many people in the UK online by 2012.
Sounds worthy enough — until you realise that there are some folk in the British Isles who don't even have electricity in our so-called modern age.
Like John McCarter — the elderly gentleman in Downhill who has been told it will cost him £67,000 to get connected!
Maybe some of our MPs could dig deep in their pockets and start a whip-round.
Or, better still, perhaps the money could come from the cash they were forced to pay back from their fiddled expenses.
Then they could show us how sorry they really are.
