IRFU should fly flag for parity of esteem

Published 17/12/2013

ANY organisation, such as Irish Rugby Football Union – which claims to represent all the people of the island while acknowledging only the anthem, flag and representative of only one of the two jurisdictions it represents – is either incompetent, or working to another agenda.

As a Northern Ireland unionist, I find A Soldier's Song offensive and full of anti-British sentiments.

Parity of esteem is requited. The current situation in Irish rugby should not be lost in other sports organised on an all-Ireland basis.
