Irish names - Is there a whiff of militancy in the air?

I note the trend among many nationalists to use the Gaelic spelling of their names and I support their right to refer to themselves in whatever way they choose. I do, however, notice an underlying militancy in this trend.

The implication is that if your name cannot be translated into Irish, you do not belong on this island.

Pity, then, those in society with English names, like 'Adams', who will never be accepted as truly Irish by the 'name police'.
