Ironic twist in abortion issue
Wednesday, 16 December 2009
Given that Irish citizens are taking their state to task in the European Court of Human Rights, the likelihood is high that the court will look to the persuasiveness of the seminal abortion case of Roe v Wade in the USA.
In doing so the probability that Article 8 of the Convention of Human Rights - the right to respect for private and family life - will be used to harmonise the law may see an ironic result in that, within the British Isles, Northern Ireland will be the only part living in accordance with a law that predates the science that many pro-life proponents now rely on.

Aye The right to kill the baby! How progressive and enlightened we have become! A nation that kills it's children has no future.

I applaud these three courageous ladies for going to court especially after what they have had to go through. I dont believe that individuality will be part of any judgement, it will be a collective decision that will incorporate religion and any dogma that it entails. I hope i am wrong.

We are a religious backwater, Philip. No one takes us seriously anyway.
