Israel's act was a violation

The commando attack by Israeli forces on the aid convoy heading to Gaza was a blatant violation of international maritime law.

The simple fact is people have been murdered by the forces of Israel - and this type of savage action can only be described as state terrorism.

The fact is that the majority on board the flotilla ships were trying to assist the people of Gaza who have been put under siege by the Israelis since Hamas took power.

Like it or not, Hamas won the votes of the people in the area and, as such, this reality must be recognised by the state of Israel.

It serves no purpose in telling revolutionary groups to engage in politics and then, when they do gain political power, refuse to negotiate with them.
