Israel's Muslim minority have equal rights

David Morrison's diatribe (Write Back, February 7) against Israel is typical of the twisted logic of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Israeli Arabs make up a fifth of Israel's population. They enjoy political and legal equality with other Israeli citizens; they serve in the judiciary like other Israelis; they have the same voting rights as other Israeli citizens; and have representation in the Knesset.

In all humility, Europe could take a leaf out of Israel's book on how to live with a large Muslim minority for more than six decades.

Mr Morrison seems to confuse Israeli Arab citizens with Palestinians. Palestinians are not Israeli citizens.

By the way, they do have a parliament they can vote for - the parliament of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.
