While I understand that the issue of abortion can be a very difficult, distressing and sensitive issue, due to the mother's life being in danger or the child being the result of rape/incest, or the child being born dreadfully handicapped. I find it hard to get my head around the approach taken by the law.
Take the life of a child that is born for only a few seconds and you will probably be found guilty of murder.
Take the life of a child by kicking the mother when she is pregnant and you will probably be found guilty of manslaughter.
Take the life of a baby inside the womb, with the potential mother's approval, and it's ok and you will probably be given a pat on the back from many for championing a 'women's right to choose'.
No doubt it's only silly me being stupid. Could someone much smarter please explain? I'm pretty sure we are all glad that our parents didn't choose to abort us.
