It's time to stop moving clocks

Instead of moving clocks backwards and forwards, why can't we just alter the time at which we do things?

Businesses working internationally, and even between adjacent time zones, manage to deal with firms working different hours from themselves.

Reading some articles one could be excused for thinking that changing the clocks somehow creates more daylight.
