Joey deserves airport tribute

Joe Dunlop was without doubt Northern Ireland’s greatest sportsman and ambassador.

His sportsmanship, charity work, kindness and professionalism were known worldwide.

He was a very unassuming man despite his many sporting triumphs and awards. He was loved and respected by all who met him at home and abroad, regardless of race or creed or religion.

The greatest honour we can bestow on this sporting legend would be to name the arrivals or departure lounges, or even the Belfast International Airport after him. He was truly the greatest sportsman ever to come out of Northern Ireland.

The Belfast International Airport is currently spending a lot of money on facilities etc and surely as a sign of good will to the people of Northern Ireland and the sporting public worldwide this would be a wonderful way to have this legend remembered.
