Killings echo a dark past

I am appalled at the brutal murders of the two soldiers at Massereene Barracks in Antrim.

It is a despicable crime.

May I offer my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the soldiers who lost their lives.

I thought those dark, evil days had, at long last, been put behind us. However, it shows that Sir Hugh Orde was right when he revealed that the threat from dissident republicans was real.

What right have these men of violence to destroy our society? I am sure that most of the people of Ireland, both north and south, are horrified at this heinous crime.
