Knowledge can be bad for us
Canon Walter Lewis (Saturday Review, May 5) is wrong to embrace our increasing dependence on knowledge.
I'm afraid I must be that voice in the wilderness in my criticism, but wasn't knowledge what got us thrown out of the Garden of Eden? Happiness was replaced by unhappiness. Isn't that the moral of the creation story?
Our knowledge-based world is all about the search for that lost happiness in infinity. God can only see this renewed focus on knowledge as a cry for help.
