Leadership of Alliance too often ignored

I NOTE the regular pleas by your columnists and in your editorials for leadership in Northern Ireland.

And, yet, your columns regularly report the 'non-leaders' and ignore those who do the heavy lifting.

The heavy lifting often requires physical and moral courage above that which normal people should be expected to display.

For years, the Alliance Party in the City Hall has made non-sectarian decisions, which are rarely easy.

People talk about a 'Shared Future', but Alliance did more than talk on the flags issue – we tried to postpone the confrontation (to no avail).

There are many leaders in the community, but they get no mention, or recognition.
