LED headlights must be probed

Published 18/02/2016

The letter by Anthony Wilkinson regarding cars with super-bright LED headlights which dazzle oncoming traffic (DebateNI, February 16) will, I hope, start some sort of an investigation as to why these lights are legal and would they pass an MoT.

I have noticed that these lights have a convex lens and am wondering if this has something to do with the extreme brightness and dazzling effect they have.

I also wonder if the owners of cars with LED lights are aware of the effect they have on other road users.
