Let's champion our volunteers

Published 19/06/2015

Over the past year your paper has featured the excellent work carried out by many local volunteers.

This year, when we have just celebrated the 31st anniversary of Volunteers' Week (June 1-7), I ask you to join me in thanking these volunteers for the positive impact they make on the lives of others.

Our message to all volunteers connecting with people and their communities is "Every volunteer is a champion". And during the week Volunteer Now ran a successful social media campaign to showcase and celebrate all these wonderful individuals.

There are more than 3,000 volunteering opportunities currently available across Northern Ireland and there is definitely something for everyone. To find out more readers can visit our website - www.volunteernow.co.uk - or contact us on 028 9023 2020.

WENDY OSBORNE OBE
