Let's hear about your unsung heroes

Letters to the editor should be sent to: 124-144 Royal Avenue, Belfast BT1 1EB. E-mail: writeback@belfasttelegraph.co.uk

For eight years I have had the immense privilege and pleasure of hosting the Pride of Britain Awards on primetime ITV1.

It is an incredibly uplifting occasion where Prince Charles and the Prime Minister join many other famous faces to honour our country's unsung heroes.

Like millions of viewers, I am always stunned and inspired by what they have done.

It is for this reason that I believe that Pride of Britain has become the awards show that really matters.

I am sure many readers know of unsung heroes in their own community.

I am appealing for them to tell us about such people so we can celebrate their achievements at Pride of Britain 2007 in London on October 9.

We are looking for people who make the world a better place - courageous children or adults, inspiring neighbours, carers, care workers, teachers, fund-raisers and members of the emergency services.

Please nominate them by emailing nominate@prideofbritain.com or on-line at www.prideofbritain.com or by writing to Pride of Britain, PO Box 4014, London, E14 5BF.

We need to receive nominations by August 17.
