Let's hope airlines don't take flight

Published 16/09/2016

Currently, there is no proper road infrastructure from Dublin to Derry, so I was delighted to hear of the reintroduction of the Derry-to-Dublin flight.

I was then aghast to hear of this being cancelled due to the Brexit decision, despite the people of Derry and the six counties as a whole voting against it.

This follows earlier cuts of the Derry-to-London flight. Is this the start of an airline exodus, which will serious damage the city's and Donegal's economic prospects?

The silence from Eamonn McCann and his normally vocal supporters is deafening. These are among the people that encouraged and actively campaigned for a Brexit - a momentous error.
