Locals raise the bar for tourists

Published 03/06/2013

My wife, two friends and myself recently spent some time in Northern Ireland and this is the only way to say a big thank you to everyone who made us welcome.

This includes people we asked for directions, hotel staff, store clerks and police officers. Everywhere we went, people seemed to actually want to be nice.

We visited a lot of different spots, including Bushmills, Royal Portrush, Derry's Walls, Coleraine, Ballymena and lots more.

Unfortunately, we ran out of time as we had to move on to see some more of Ireland.

I would like to say a very special thank you to the bar staff of the Premier Inn in Coleraine.

They showed that, of all the countries where the people are nice, Northern Ireland is still tops.

We will be back. Thank you all.
