Lo's a breath of fresh air for the environment

Published 25/07/2012

I would just like to say how refreshing it was to read of a local politician calling for the greater protection of our local environment (Comment, July 23).

Anna Lo MLA is doing a brilliant job as chair of the Assembly's environment committee and I hope her fellow committee members will reconsider her proposal for an independent marine management organisation.

Many of our local MLAs could not care less about our environment and are not even remotely interested in seriously tackling the many things ruining it for those who care.

May I also commend your environment correspondent, Linda Stewart, on her brilliant articles highlighting the threats affecting our environment.
