Low times for the High Street

With the recent failure of several well-known chains, the future of the High Street is once again under scrutiny.

Councils have done all they can to leverage rateable values, building malls and tarting up city centres, so that now only the large chains can afford to be in the High Street and sole traders and interesting shops have been driven out.
