McDevitt could still play crucial role for SDLP

NATURALLY enough, at the SDLP party conference last weekend, there wasn't much mention of Conall McDevitt's exit from the SDLP at a very strategically important time for the party.

However, a visit to the SDLP website, where I found a link to his last interview on UTV, reminded me of Conall's excruciatingly painful resignation words.

Nonetheless, there's yet to be an expose on those described on the video as "outside the SDLP" who put it to Conall that he had something "to take responsibility for".

In my view, Conall is someone who should not be overlooked by the SDLP for returning to the fold after his period in "purgatory".
