McGuinness needs a dose of reality on EU

Published 20/07/2016

When Martin McGuinness talks about Northern Ireland remaining in the EU (News, July 18), I assume that, in the absence of a vote to leave the UK and move into a united Ireland, he is also keen for Northern Ireland to be excluded from any trade deals agreed between the rest of the UK and the EU bloc, USA, Australia, the Commonwealth and anywhere else in the world, for that matter.

I also assume he has a figure in mind for the level of EU membership fees Northern Ireland will have to pay. Perhaps it's time to acknowledge reality and get on with doing what we pay you for and deal with the situation as it is and not indulge in a never-ending tantrum.
