Memories of the Doug?

I wonder if any readers could help me in research I am doing about the late, great Derek Dougan?

On November 11, 1959, he played for Northern Ireland B against France B at Windsor Park, Belfast. Although well-established as a centre-forward with Blackburn Rovers by then, he was named at centre-half.

Does anyone know the circumstances of this selection? Also, Dougan was replaced by Campbell of Crusaders at some stage in the game. Was Dougan injured or did the experiment of playing him in his old school position not work out? Any information on this, or any memories of Dougan as a young player with Distillery, would be most useful.
