Millions affected by Africa crises
Two major crises in Africa are putting hundreds of thousands of lives at risk. In Niger, six million people, more than half of whom are children, face starvation as a result of persistent drought.
Conflict between Sudan and South Sudan is forcing tens of thousands of people from their homes and has put the two countries closer to war than at any stage since they signed a peace agreement seven years ago.
GOAL is on the ground in all three regions and we are doing what we can to respond.
In Niger, GOAL is screening thousands of young children for malnutrition; we are also delivering an emergency programme for families in refugee camps in South Sudan's Upper Nile State.
Unless the international community makes a meaningful intervention to remove any threat of war or famine, then millions of people will spend the next few months scrambling for survival.
