MLAs are reaching their sell-by date
Over the last few weeks what I have noticed is a sense of normality - the roads are busy and pot-holed as people go to work, the children are enjoying the Easter break, civil servants are getting on with running the country on a reduced budget, and the shops are busy trying to sell chocolate eggs before they have to reduce the price as they go out of date.
That is something that our MLAs are in danger of doing.
The thing is that no one other than they seem particularly interested in what they are engaged, or supposed to be engaged in.
Even reporting of their supposed 'negotiations' has fallen down the news order.
Now we have Mary Lou from Dublin telling us that we should have another election to get the same result, give or take a few votes.
And best of all they still think that we take them seriously.
