MLAs need to set an example
I would like to add my support to the petition expressing disappointment with the Executive's Cohesion, Sharing and Integration policy (CSI).
The CSI policy is weak, lacks vision and fails to set out an action plan for reducing segregation.
However, although the petition criticises the CSI assumption that Northern Ireland's current politically-driven identities will survive indefinitely, it does not suggest how this can be overcome.
These politically-driven identities are illustrated by the requirement for MLAs to designate as either unionist or nationalist.
If the Executive is serious about healing divisions, it could start by abolishing the community identity required by MLAs.
