Mobiles also rule our lives today

Published 07/01/2016

I REFER to the letter headlined, "Simpler life before computers" (Write Back, January 4). I entirely agree with what was written about computers. The same can be said for mobile phones.

In my youth, there were none; even household telephones were rare. Today, most of us use mobiles; they are okay if used sensibly - some people use them for conversations wherever they are; in shops, on the bus/train or wherever. There is enough hustle and bustle now without having to be entertained by personal conversations.

Computers and mobile phones have their place. I have a desktop computer, used mainly for word processing, email and visual chats with my family and friends, and my mobile phone is used mainly for urgent matters.
