More balanced view on Israel welcomed
I was truly heartened by the letter from Edward Horgan (Write Back, October 5), in which he wrote: "Peace in the Middle East has never been so urgent, yet so far from reality."
What was remarkable, considering his numerous previous letters to the Press, was that the only reference to Israel was in his preliminary words, "On September 30, Shimon Peres was buried in Israel, hailed by many as a peacemaker, by others as a war criminal", which had no connection with the litany of conflicts that followed.
Obviously, he now realises that the Palestine/Israel conflict is only a minor sideline in the Middle East. I look forward to such a balanced approach from him in the future.
