Movies point to all the usual suspects... again

AFTER watching the films Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and 12 Years A Slave, I can sincerely say that I'm glad that my roots are in the Irish Catholic section of our society.

Our community has never had a secular empire, whose actions we needed to apologise for.

The justification for the oppressive violence and the objective evil they perpetrated on black people came from the usual suspects – race superiority, religious affiliation and that book, the Old Testament.

Where have we heard such nonsense before?
