New Casement hopes still alive

Published 18/05/2015

The vision of a new, state-of-art stadium at Casement Park is still alive and we are delighted to see that the GAA is unbending in its determination to have this realised.

Irrespective of recent developments, we believe that this project has to deliver a new beginning for Casement and, indeed, for the Antrim GAA.

We have faith that minister Caral Ni Chuilin will ensure the new stadium will not compromise on the safety of the people attending the stadium, or those living in surrounding areas.

At a time when both Antrim hurling and football are suffering on the pitch and many clubs are struggling in Belfast, we believe this new stadium will be a welcome boost to the fortunes of our county.

There are also the connected benefits this will create for west Belfast. Restaurants, bars and local shops will all benefit from the crowds that attend events.

Having a stadium that will be the main venue for Ulster finals on our doorstep is something that can reap rewards for future generations and the community.
