Even the staunchest republican must admit, however grudgingly, that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is deserving of huge respect.
She deserves and receives admiration not only within this United Kingdom, but across the world.
At this time in Northern Ireland's history, one of the significant aspects of the Jubilee is that the forthcoming celebration events have been announced and publicised.
We seem to be openly and transparently moving to a new chapter in our history, a chapter within which everyone can celebrate anniversaries and traditions that, for them, are important.
Her Majesty's dedication to her role as sovereign has set a fine example, as she paid respect to different cultures, including the groundbreaking visit to Dublin, and she has won the hearts of many nations.
In respecting diversity, her achievement is an example to us all.
