NIO should stop talking and start to listen instead

Published 14/09/2015

I have been following the continuing saga of the Stormont crisis, which seems to have a longer run than a Christmas panto.

One thing I have noticed is that the NIO and Secretary of State keep setting up talks when instead of talking they should really do some listening. Talking seems not to have led to any positive outcomes at all.

At present I am awaiting the response to a FOI request to the NIO I made recently to inquire whether they have a "Plan B" when it finally does go pear- shaped.

Personally I can see no real purpose of Stormont. It would make an admirable concert venue or even an opera house.
